About Us

Chicken-coop-SM_1867The Path of Hope provides scholarships to girls to fund their education. This funding is used to help with the following:

  • School Fees
  • Uniforms (skirts, blouses and shoes)
  • Books
  • School Supplies
  • Transportation
  • Food during school

In addition to monetary support, the girls also receive assistance in the form of tutoring when needed, life education and mentoring by successful, mature women. The goal of the program is to allow them to continue their education, reduce the barriers to success and improve their standing in the community. The girls are monitored throughout the school year to make sure they are doing well in their studies. At the end of the year, the girls must submit their final report cards and certificates of promotion for continuation into the next year.

Although the program is designed to help the girl, it is important that they do their part to help themselves as well. Because of this, the program has rigorous standards that the girls must meet to continue from year to year.

$336, less than a dollar a day, will provide an educational scholarship for one of our girls. This scholarship covers school fees, uniforms, books, school supplies, transportation and food during school for an academic year.

$2000 will provide the same scholarship for six years, or 7th-12th grades for a single girl.

Funding for Path of Hope comes from individual and corporate donations as well as grants. All scholarship donations to Path of Hope go directly to funding scholarships for girls’ education. Any unrestricted donations are used for administrative costs associated with supporting the foundation. There are no paid staff members at Path of Hope. Volunteers run the foundation.
